An easy recipe to do with your little ones while staying at home. It is a bit messy, although nice to see the kids getting so involved, but as the only "cooking" required is melting the chocolate you can do as I and make a little satellite kitchen in the garage.
Chocolate and Caramel Nests
Yields 20 little nests ir 10 medium
Ingredients:
2 cups Corn Flakes
150g dark chocolate (I used 53% cocoa solids but any type will work)
1/2 cup dulce de leche or caramel like Nestle (has to be thick)
Method:
Melt the chocolate either in a Bain Marie or in the microwave (the easiest way, you just have to do it in small bursts and stirring after each one to avoid burning it!)
Mix with the caramel until well combined. Add cornflakes and mix until all flakes are covered with the mix (or semi covered, not big deal). Form the nests using two tablespoons and place over a tray lined with baking paper.
Put your tray in the fridge for 30 min to 1 hr for them to set and enjoy responsibly :)
